Adrian Lewsi is 5/1 to successfully defend his Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship crown in 12 months time, according to the sponsors.
The Stoke-born ace completed a stunning 7-5 set victory over the Flying Scotsman Gary Anderson to be take the biggest title in world darts.
Lewis had been 25/1 to win the tournament before play started in mid-December and the bookies were thrilled with the result.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "An electric final saw record-breaking betting as the popular finalists went toe-to-toe. We were thrilled with the outcome as Lewis was unfancied before play began.
"Lewis has long been touted as a world champion in the making and he's sure to be well supported now that he's cracked the biggest stage of all at the Ally Pally."
Anderson is also 5/1 to go one better and win the title next year. Fifteen-time world champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor is the 6/4 favourite.
