Q and A
Q. What attracted you to iGaming recruitment?
A. Since a young age, I’ve always been into sports and have played and watched a lot of football and cricket. I have also been very into betting having caught the bug at an early age from numerous family visits to Newmarket Racecourse. Whilst at university I decided to look into recruitment as a career option and was really attracted by how social the role was and the fact that it is so people based. I am delighted that I have been able to combine my career aspirations with two of my main personal interests.
Q. Which most poker memory sticks most keenly in your mind?
A. I watch poker on television and play online, but prefer to play with friends. The one memory of mine that definitely sticks out is when I got a royal flush. Over the years I have only ever seen it happen once so it was great to get one personally, but I was only dealt the hand on the river card so didn’t actually win much!
Q. Of the sporting events you have attended, which sticks out the most?
A. I am a Chelsea fan and there is one football match that definitely sticks out: Chelsea vs. Barcelona in 2005. Chelsea were 2-1 down after the 1st leg. I was sat in the end behind the goal in the first half and Chelsea scored three goals in the first 20 minutes. We eventually won 4-2 and got through to the quarters. Ronaldinho scored a wonder goal too. It is definitely the most exciting game I’ve been to.

Q and A
A: Hyperion are continuing to develop our social media presence, as well as working further on our site’s functionality.
A: Arthur Hitch’s gutsy Castlelyons Dani winning the Gold Collar at the now much lamented Catford. He broke almost last from trap six, made good initial progress until getting badly baulked out of the second bend, then took off like a rocket ship along the back straight making up half a dozen lengths in a number of strides. Coming off the home turn he showed tremendous track craft in going inside of trap one, and rewarded his backers at 11/8.
A: Last year saw a host of nine dart finishes, and Phil Taylor continued to dominate across the board. However the match that is perhaps the most etched into memory was the World Championship third round clash between Ronnie Baxter and the eventual winner Raymond Van Barneveld. The tussle went all the way to a final leg decider, with several missed match darts in an electric atmosphere.
Q: Who won the Hyperion Gaming quarterly ten pin bowling trip?
A: This was a closely ran affair, with honours even between Tom Chandler and Mike Owen.

Q and A
A: Head of Affiliate Marketing, Israeli Country Manager, Central Media Manager.
A: I think it was more by choice than anything. I have a natural interest in this area from my previous experience and find the marketing roles much more challenging and ultimately rewarding to fill. I still work across the board however and continue to manage various accounts that have more of a focus on support roles. I find it’s best to have exposure to all areas of the business and place emphasis on one area rather than make it so black and white; there’s often a huge amount of crossover with some positions, so it’s valuable to have knowledge of the whole spectrum.
A: Denman struggling home in the Gold Cup. I was widely shunned for taking the place price before the off!
A: If I had to pick, I would go with Barcelona, but as always it is a strong group going through to the final stages.

Profile
Steven is a well known face in offline gaming and joined the Hyperion team in 2009 with a strong pedigree. He has successfully worked for over five years specialising in recruiting and consulting for the off line betting and gaming industry. At Hyperion Steven manages the offline division, recruiting internationally at a senior managerial level for off line casinos, bingo operators, retail betting companies and suppliers to the industry, as-well as other bricks and mortar betting and gambling focussed organisations.
Q and A
A: I have a real passion for the industry and wanted to do all I could to improve and help make it better. The biggest asset a land based gaming operation has is its staff and management. Thus I believe that the service and expertise I provide and the candidates I represent have made and continue to make significant and tangible improvements to the industry.
A: Director of Casino Operations, Casino Marketing Director, Director of Loyalty Marketing.
A: I tend to start with a bit of Black Jack and as the night progresses and my concentration wanes I move on to the low minimum Roulette and of course Poker.
A: That’s a difficult decision. London has 25 Casinos and each offers a unique environment, so we are spoiled for choice. I think the guys at Hyperion would enjoy themselves in each and every one of them.

Q and A
A: Head of Analysis, Head of Product Development, Senior Campaign Manager.
A: I work closely with Hyperion’s Account Managers on a day to day basis and also help to define business development strategy for the company. I am still actively involved in recruitment, however my overall resposibility is focussed upon the performance of the sales team.
A: I am a Sunderland supporter and managed to see us draw against Arsenal at the Emirates earlier this season, which was a cracking result. Dave and I also went to see Malta play Denmark a few weeks ago and the atmosphere was fantastic even though Malta were eventually beaten 3 - 0.
Q: What is your favourite race course?
A: I would have to say Sandown due to fond memories of watching Oratorio edge out Motivator in the Eclipse with Chris in 2005, although Cheltenham and Goodwood come in a close joint second.
